• VOLUNTEER INTEREST NOTICE

    THANK YOU for choosing to serve the students of Palm Springs Unified School District. Volunteers play a very important role in providing enrichment opportunities and extra attention that enhances the educational experience of our students. Your support is invaluable.

     

    To become a Volunteer, here’s what you will need to do:

    1. DETERMINE THE TYPE OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE YOU WANT TO PROVIDE

    • Non-Supervisory – A volunteer that is never left alone with students; OR
    • Supervisory – A volunteer serving alone as a supervisor to students (i.e. driving students, field trips, tutoring, or any supervision away from the certificated teacher or approved supervisory employee.

    2. COMPLETE ONLINE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION  (See Links Below)

    You will need the following in order to complete the volunteer process/online application. For:   

           Non-Supervisory Volunteer Application Process

    • Email Address is required
    • Copy of current U.S. Identification is required and uploaded on Application
    • Complete Mandated Reporter Training (Attach copy of Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion to volunteer application)
    • (Early Childhood Education ONLY) - Provide copies of immunizations against Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Measles, and Influenza to Human Resources

          Supervisory Volunteer Application Process

    • Email address is required
    • Copy of current U.S. Identification and current CA Driver’s License are required and uploaded on Application
    • Live scan criminal background check clearance is required (using District LiveScan form provided by Human Resources) The cost of fingerprints are paid by the District.
    • Complete Mandated Reporter Training (Attach copy of Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion to volunteer application)

    3. APPLICATION PROCESSING

    Please allow up to 30 days for processing Supervisory Volunteer applications.

    • NON-Supervisory: School site principals / designees will receive initial application and if approved will then forward to Human Resources for final approval. 
    • SUPERVISORY: School site principals / designees will receive initial application and if approved will then forward to Human Resources. A notification/Live scan instructions will be emailed to volunteer. Once Live Scan results are received and are cleared, Human Resources will finalize approval and you will receive an email confirmation.

    *A New Volunteer Application is required every school year

    *Live Scans do NOT expire. If you previously had Live Scans done through the volunteer process, you do not need to renew them

    *PSUSD Employees will need to complete the volunteer process and be approved by the school site Principal or designee
