Parents, we want to let you know about a fantastic program designed to support the health and well-being of your children and entire family! The Healthy School Program is a dedicated partnership between Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) and the Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD). Together, we are committed to keeping students healthy, engaged, and ready to succeed.
Through this program, you and your child are personally connected at low to no-cost health care and resources for your whole family.

Health Navigator Program
What is it? The Healthy School Program connects students and their families with Health Navigators. Health Navigators are certified Community Health Workers who meet with students and their families to help them access no-cost health care, mental health resources, wellness exams, and essentials like food, clothing, and housing. This program aims to remove barriers to student success by addressing health issues early, which helps improve attendance and focus.

Who can use the program?
The program is available to IEHP students and families at participating schools. If you're not an IEHP member, we'll help connect you to your health plan or to health coverage.

What is a Health Navigator?
Health Navigators are certified Community Health Workers who help families access no-cost health care and local resources.

What do Health Navigators do?
Health Navigators can help you find a doctor, schedule check-ups, and make appointments. They also give you and your child access to mental and behavioral health care , connect families to food, housing, and community resources , and provide education on health benefits and other local resources.

Does it cost money?
All services come at low to no-cost to students and their families.

How will this help my child do well in school?
Addressing health issues early helps improve attendance and focus, removing barriers to student success. Together, we can ensure your child is healthy, happy, and set up for success – both in school and in life.
