	It's almost time for a new school year! To help ensure a smooth start, we want to inform you about ongoing construction projects at several school sites that may impact student drop-off and pick-up routines. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we work to improve our school facilities. Please review the information below for specific details regarding your child's school and plan accordingly.

	Important Notes for All Campuses with Construction- 
Follow Posted Signage: Clearly marked signs will direct traffic flow, pedestrian paths, and designated drop-off/pick-up zones. 
- 
Allow Extra Time: Construction may cause delays. Please build in additional time for your commute to and from school. 
- 
Prioritize Safety: Be extra vigilant in construction zones. Watch for construction vehicles, equipment, and workers. Remind your children about staying safe around construction areas.

Communicate with Your School: If you have specific questions about your school's procedures, please contact the front office directly. 
 Construction Updates by School SiteHere's a breakdown of current summer construction projects that may affect your back-to-school experience: 
-

                Cathedral City High School- 
Project: Modernization is entering Phase 3, with work on buildings 300 and 400. 
- 
Impact: Access to and around buildings 300 and 400 will be impacted. Students and parents should familiarize themselves with updated campus maps and traffic flow.

                Della Lindley Elementary- 
Project: New classrooms are ready for the new school year! Demolition work for administrative offices and the MPR (Multi-Purpose Room) is beginning.

Impact: While new classrooms are open, there may be ongoing demolition activities. Be aware of active work zones and follow any new circulation plans for the main office and MPR areas.

                James Workman Middle School- 
Project: The library and 200 wing will be completed in September. Parking lot work has also begun. 
- 
Impact: Expect continued work on the parking lot, which may affect parking availability and drop-off/pick-up efficiency. The library and 200 wing will become fully accessible in September, but there may be transitional periods before then

                Sunny Sands Elementary and Landau Elementary- 
Project: Teachers will be moving into new two-story buildings. Temporary offices will be located in portable classrooms or other available classrooms while remaining project buildings are demolished.

Impact: Expect changes to classroom locations and potentially new temporary office locations. Drop-off/pick-up procedures may be adjusted to accommodate new building access points and demolition zones. Your school will provide specific maps and instructions.

                Katherine Finchy Elementary, Rio Vista Elementary, and Julius Corsini Elementary- 
Project: Phase 2 of new TK building construction. 
- 
Impact: Similar to Phase 1 schools, expect adjusted traffic patterns and designated walkways.

Anticipated Completion: Phase 2 is expected to be completed in November.

                Bella Vista Elementary, Cabot Yerxa Elementary, and Cathedral City Elementary- 
Project: Phase 1 of new TK (Transitional Kindergarten) building construction.

Impact: Expect some rerouting of drop-off/pick-up paths around the construction areas. Follow all temporary signage.

Anticipated Completion: Phase 1 is expected to be completed in November.
