  • At JWMS, our primary goal is to create a conducive learning environment where students can focus on academics and where teachers can effectively teach. Discipline helps students develop a sense of responsibility, respect for others, and self-regulation skills. 

  • Examples of Inappropriate Behavior
    1. Truancy – All Day
    2. Unexcused Tardiness to School/Class
    3. Skipping a Class (full or partial class period)/Leaving class without permission
    4. Violation of Pass Privileges
    5. Off-Campus Without Permission of the Main Office
    6. Disruptive at Extracurricular Activities (dances, club meetings, athletic contests, etc)
    7. Bus Misconduct
    8. Parking/Driving Infractions
    9. Attire that is Disruptive, Excessively Revealing, Represents a Safety Hazard, or Promotes Engagement in Illegal Activities (for more detailed information, refer to the Code of Conduct publication, which is available in the main office)
    10. Public Displays of Affection
    11. Disruptive Behavior
    12. Disruptive Behavior During Assigned Lunch Period
    13. Inappropriate Library Behavior
    14. Unauthorized Use of Electronic Devices
    15. Cheating/Plagiarism
    16. Horseplay
    17. Making unwanted aggressive physical contact with another student (pushing, punching, slapping, spitting, etc.)
    18. Fighting (physically)
    19. Harassment/Intimidation/Defamation
    20. Bullying/Hazing
    21. Lying and Other Disrespectful Behavior
    22. Profanity, Vulgarity, and Offensive Language or Materials
    23. Insubordination (challenge of authority)
    24. Vulgarity Directed at a Staff Member
    25. Impeding/Interfering with an Administrative Investigation
    26. Possession or Use of Tobacco Products and/or Electronic Cigarettes
    27. Possession or Use of Drugs, Alcohol, Synthetic/Designer Drugs, and/or Drug Paraphernalia
    28. Possession of a Weapon on School Premises
    29. Pulling of Fire Alarm (Falsely)/Threat Against the School
    30. Forgery
    31. Vandalism: Deliberately damaging or defacing school property
    32. Theft
