COVID-19 Update

  • PSUSD Schools Directed Closed Through April 30

    Starting March 16, Palm Springs Unified School District schools have been ordered closed through at least April 3 by the Riverside County Department of Public Health as part of a county-wide district shut down in an effort to curtail the spread of COVID-19.  All district and school building activities including school day instruction, child care, health services, enrichment, student internships, athletics and club sports, preschool etc. are canceled through at least April 30.

    A partir del 16 de marzo, el Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado de Riverside ordenó el cierre de las escuelas del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Palm Springs al menos hasta el 3 de abril como parte de un cierre de todo el distrito en un esfuerzo por reducir la propagación de COVID-19. Todas las actividades de construcción del distrito y de la escuela, incluidas la enseñanza durante el día escolar, el cuidado de niños, los servicios de salud, el enriquecimiento, las pasantías estudiantiles, el atletismo y los deportes del club, el preescolar, etc., se cancelan al menos hasta el 30 de abril.

    Our Family Engagement Belief Statement:

    It is the PSUSD Family Engagement Department’s fundamental belief that families and community members are essential partners within a school district and that trusting and respectful relationships must be intentionally cultivated. All families are valued and encouraged to act as advocates, leaders and stakeholders to support their child’s academic success. We recognize and appreciate that sustained parent engagement positively impacts student success and academic achievement.

    The PSUSD Family Center is committed to:

    1. Expanding community and stakeholder input

    2. Increasing opportunities for family and community engagement

    3. Increasing opportunities for Adult/Parent Education

    4. Fostering partnerships between schools, parent leadership, advocacy groups and community organizations

Services Offered

    • Family and Parent Education Classes (7 Habits of Successful Families, Triple P, Educate, Equip and Support, Courageous Parenting)
    • Resources and Referrals (medical health, mental health, basic needs support, local and county resource connections, PSUSD department referrals)
    • Support for parent leadership groups, forums and advisories (PTA, AAPAC, SEPAC, LPAC, LGBTQ, DELAC)
    • Adult Learning & Personal Development (ESL Classes, technology classes, technology access at two centers including computers and internet, personal development workshops)
    • Attendance and Academic Counseling: Support in accessing programs such as ParentVue (parent access to student attendance and grades), Sprigeo (online reporting system) and PeachJar (Online flyer delivery system) and support in accessing and understanding school site or district departments, programs and resources.
