Description of Forums and Advisories
African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC): Intended for families to make recommendations and collaborate in working toward common goals that improve the educational experience of African American children of PSUSD.
Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC): Designed to provide parents of students with special needs a forum for communication and collaboration. Parents will also be provided with training and resources to foster their children’s development and success in education and the home.
Advanced Learners Parent Forum: Intended for parents of advanced and gifted children to learn about key information and resources available through our school district and county services. This Forum will be facilitated by the PSUSD Advanced Learner Specialist.
New Comers Parent Forum: All families that are new to the school district are invited to learn about the various departments and resources available through PSUSD.
LGBTQ Family Forum: Designed for those who self-identify or whose children identify as part of the LGBTQ family to network and collaborate with community partners.
Parents In Action Forum: Parents in Action are members of their school site PTA, PTG or PTO. They actively work to promote their school site and come together to collaborate with other leaders district-wide.
LCAP Parent Ambassador Advisory: Representatives from every school site participate in the analysis of the LCAP to provide parent input for goals and spending. (LCAP) Local Control and Accountability Plan.
District English Learner Advisory Committee: (DELAC)Consisting of representatives from each school’s English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), members learn about and advise on matters related to English learner programs, services, and resources.
