Meet the District Family Engagement Center Team

  • Ruby Rivera Mrs. Ruby Rivera, Family Engagement Coordinator

    Ruby Rivera graduated from Palm Springs Unified School District and has been working in the school district for the past 12 years. She is dedicated to helping families connect to the school district and utilize the many services and resources offered. As a parent of children in our school district, Ruby relates to parents working hard to provide for their family and knows the passion that we feel in helping our children succeed. As the coordinator of Family Engagement, Ruby works with PSUSD staff, parents and a family engagement team to plan, implement and evaluate family engagement for PSUSD.

  • Emma Hernandez Tomatan Emma Hernandez Tomatan, District Office Technician - Bilingual

    Emma Hernandez graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a BA in Psychology. She is currently working on a Master of Arts in Learning and Teaching at the University of Redlands and hopes to become a dual immersion elementary school teacher. She enjoys being able to provide information about the importance of education to both students and parents.

  • Dulce Granados Dulce Granados, School / Community Liaison - Bilingual

    Dulce Granados graduated from Coachella Valley High School, and atttend California State University, Stanislaus and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Juvenile Justice. Dulce enjoys working with parents, especially teaching the Educational Technology courses were parents learn about technology. Dulce is a sports fantacic, enjoys traveling and trying out new food.

  • Barbara Heidt Barbara Heidt, School / Community Liaison - Bilingual

    Barbara Heidt has been working at the Family Engagement Center since it first opened three years ago. She has over 20 years of experience providing services to the community in different educational, literacy, health/fitness, and social services countywide programs and is currently working on obtaining her BA in Sociology. Her vision has always been to motivate and empower families to take advantage and have access to as many district, local and county resources.

  • Debbie Olvera     Debbie Olvera, Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA)

       

    Debbie Olvera is a graduate from Palm Springs High School and has been an elementary school teacher in Palm Springs Unified School District. Debbie has a masters in Educational Administration. She has joined the Family Center team this year because of her shared passion in empowering and   supporting families in our community. She believes in creating positive change in the world by building one strong family at a time. Debbie enjoys gardening, traveling, and trying new foods!
