Foundation Brings Power of Play to Five Elementary Schools

What better way to development professional playground skills then combining play with academic acumen? Thanks to Playworks, a national recess model, PSUSD is implementing organized recess in five of our elementary schools this year. Made possible by a generous grant from The Fogeslon Family Foundation’s Game ON! initiative, along with a host of private local funders, PSUSD was able to employ a Recess Coach at five of our elementary schools, who were trained earlier this week.

Next PSUSD Board Elections Move to Trustee Area

The Palm Springs Unified School District Board of Education and Riverside County Committee on School Distrit Organization have approved the establishment of Trustee Areas from which Governing Board members will be elected in a By-Trustee area election process. Previously, the District used at an "at-large" system for elections. The map of Trustee Areas for the November 4, 2014 election is attached.

In a by-trustee area system of election, candidates must reside within the geographic sub-area of the District (trustee area) and be elected only by the voters of that trustee area.
