Welcome to the 2025–26 School Year at Cahuilla!
Dear Cahuilla Families,
I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Cahuilla Elementary and excited to welcome you to the 2025–26 school year! I’m looking forward to a meaningful year filled with connection, growth, and success for every student.
I am the first in my family to graduate from college, and I truly believe education has the power to change lives—because it changed mine. I had several teachers who made a lasting impact on me, not just because of what they taught, but because of the relationships they built, the high expectations they held for me, and the way they made me feel. They challenged me, pushed me to do more than I thought I could, and believed in my potential even when I didn’t see it myself. I carry their influence with me every day, and I am forever grateful. Their impact continues to fuel my belief in what’s possible for every student.
This year marks my 10th year as a school leader. Most recently, I served as the assistant principal at Sunny Sands Elementary. Before that, I was an English teacher at Desert Hot Springs High School. Prior to moving to the Coachella Valley, I served as an elementary principal in Portland, Oregon for six years and as an elementary and middle school principal in San Francisco for two years.
As principal of Cahuilla, I will work to ensure that each and every student feels safe, valued, and supported so they can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
As we begin the school year, I want to highlight how important it is for students to be in class every day. Each day of learning builds on the last, and consistent attendance helps students stay connected, confident, and on track. Thank you for supporting your student’s success by making school attendance a priority and helping them start each day ready to learn.
I look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful year for your student. If you ever have questions, concerns, or celebrations to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warmly,
Bob Stelle
