Cathedral City Elementary School is located in Cathedral City, California within the Palm Springs Unified School District. Cathedral City Elementary School provides services for approximately 650 students in grades TK-5th grades. Cathedral City Elementary also provides the following special education programs on site: speech and language services, RSP services, and mild/moderate SDC classrooms. A special education collaboration model is utilized at CCE. Instruction within a collaborative service delivery model reflects content and performance standards and ensures access to the core curriculum for all students.

To ensure a smooth transition from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Kindergarten, one Kindergarten teacher from each elementary school will meet three times each year with ECE teachers to discuss the necessary skills needed for a successful ECE to Kindergarten transition. These meetings will be held at the District Office or virtually and facilitated by the ECE Principal who shall gather input from the elementary school principals and/or Kindergarten department leads. The incoming ECE students will also have the opportunity to visit the Kindergarten classrooms. Each year, the parents of incoming kindergarten students will have the opportunity to attend an informational Kindergarten meeting at the elementary school to meet the elementary school principal and Kindergarten teachers. The parents will be provided with instructional materials and supplies to assist their students over the summer. These articulation efforts and meetings will be supported through centralized Title I funds.

The following school plan (SPSA) is generated based off of an analysis of student achievement data completed by staff and the School Site Council. The actions and expenditures are adjusted to address the needs of the students. The SPSA is reviewed and monitored in the fall and the spring.

Students are assessed utilizing probes selected from the core curriculum, Imagine Learning, STAR interim assessments, and common grade level created assessments. This data is used to target tier I instruction including small teacher-led groups and to develop/monitor tier II intervention groups.

Cathedral City Elementary School worked cooperatively with the District Office to revise this school plan. The plan is developed according to specific guidelines established by the California Department of Education and Education Code.

La Escuela Primaria de la Ciudad de Cathedral (CCE, por sus siglas en inglés) se encuentra en la ciudad de Cathedral, California, dentro del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Palm Springs (PSUSD, por sus siglas en inglés). Presta servicios a aproximadamente 650 alumnos desde kínder de transición hasta 5.º grado. La escuela también proporciona en el plantel los siguientes programas de educación especial: servicios del habla y del lenguaje, servicios del Programa Especialista en Recursos (RSP, por sus siglas en inglés) y salones de Clase Especial Diurna (SDC, por sus siglas en inglés) para discapacidades leves/moderadas. Se emplea un modelo colaborativo de educación especial en la Escuela Primaria de la Ciudad de Cathedral. La enseñanza dentro del modelo colaborativo de impartición de servicios refleja las normas de contenido y de desempeño y asegura el acceso de todos los alumnos al currículo básico.

Para garantizar una fácil transición al kínder de la Educación de Niñez Temprana (ECE, por sus siglas en inglés), un maestro de kínder de cada escuela primaria se reunirá tres veces al año con maestros de ECE a fin de abordar las habilidades necesarias para una transición exitosa. Estas reuniones serán celebradas en la Dirección del distrito o de forma virtual y serán facilitadas por el director de ECE, que recopilará sugerencias de los directores de escuela primaria o los líderes del Departamento de Kínder. Los alumnos entrantes de ECE también tendrán la oportunidad de visitar los salones de clase de kínder. Cada año, los padres de los estudiantes entrantes al kínder tendrán la oportunidad de asistir a una reunión informativa en la escuela primaria, a fin de conocer al director de la escuela y los docentes de kínder. Los padres recibirán materiales y útiles educativos para ayudar a sus hijos durante el verano. Esta labor y estas reuniones de coordinación se financiarán a través de los fondos centralizados del Título I.

El siguiente Plan Escolar para el Logro Estudiantil (SPSA, por sus siglas en inglés) se genera de acuerdo con un análisis de los datos de desempeño estudiantil realizado por el personal y el Consejo de Sitio Escolar. Se modifican los gastos y medidas con el objetivo de abordar las necesidades de los alumnos. El SPSA se analiza y supervisa en el otoño y la primavera.

Los alumnos son evaluados usando pruebas seleccionadas del currículo básico, el programa “Imagine Learning” (Imagina Aprender), las evaluaciones provisionales “STAR” (Pruebas e Informes Estandarizados) y las evaluaciones comunes desarrolladas de acuerdo con el nivel de grado. Se emplean estos datos para abordar la enseñanza de nivel I, que incluye grupos pequeños liderados por los maestros, y desarrollar/supervisar los grupos de intervención de nivel II.

La Escuela Primaria de la Ciudad de Cathedral colaboró con la Dirección del distrito para analizar este plan escolar. Este plan se desarrolla de acuerdo con pautas específicas establecidas por el Departamento de Educación de California y el Código de Educación.
