Drone Soccer

Drone Soccer in Elementary provides students with the opportunity to interact with drones in a fun, safe environment. Students will learn to work with their teammates to score goals, block strikers, and create strategies to defeat their opponents. Drone soccer is played in an inflatable arena with goals on each side. Teams of 5 vs 5, name a striker drone who will be the only drone on the team to score the goals. The other drones defend their goal. The best of three sets wins the match.

CS First Coding

• • The Cakewalk Coding program is an after school coding club that exposes students to the basics of computer programming. Students will engage in block-based coding using Scratch. 
  • Cakewalk inspires students to create code. But what exactly is coding? Your browser, the apps on your phone, Facebook,- they’re all made is code. Cakewalk is an after school program that will introduce students to coding. Students will walk away with the development of a basic understanding of computer programming.

AR/VR Explorations

• • Virtual Reality (VR) is the term used to describe a three-dimensional, interactive computer-generated experience taking place within a simulated environment.  Students wear VR headsets with dual screens, one for each eye, eliminating any interaction with the real world.  The visuals on the screen are rendered by using a mobile phone.  
  • Augmented Reality (AR) is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real-world are “augmented” by computer-generated perceptual information. Graphics, sounds, and touch feedback are added into our natural world to create an enhanced user experience.

WonderWorks Dash Robots

• The Cakewalk Robotics program is an after-school coding club that exposes students to the basics of physical programming.  Students will use programming robots. When programming robotics, there can be many solutions to a single problem. Students get to discuss their processes and the logic that they used to understand different methods and solutions. This opens students to the real world process of problem solving!
• Cakewalk Robotics helps students understand  programming concepts. Robots are a fun and effective way to learn about computer programming.  Computer coding helps teach students how to use and explain their logic. Cakewalk is an after-school program that will introduce students to programming robotics. 

VLOG

• • CakeWalk Vlogging will offer this medium to students as a way to familiarize them with the newest technologies surrounding video content creation.
  • Video creation has become a widely popular form of self expression, information dissemination, entertainment, and voice amplifier. We want our students prepared for any career that might use video as a medium. This after school program aims to expose students to the field of video creation.

Digital Storytelling

• • Digital storytelling is the practice of using computer-based tools to tell stories. Digital stories usually contain some mixture of computer-based images, text, recorded audio narration, video clips, and/or music.
  • Digital storytelling allows students to create videos about their schoolwork, lives and world.

Explorations in Coding I and II

• • CS Explorations 1 is an introductory course based on the MyCS Scratch curriculum that empowers students to engage with computer science as a medium for creativity, communication, problem solving, and fun. 
  • CS Explorations 2 is an introductory course based on MIT AI curricular resources for K-12 designed to help students explore AI and it’s far-reaching societal impacts in our world.

App Design

• • App design combines the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). While UI lends itself to the overall style of the app (including the colors, fonts, and general look and feel), UX focuses on the actual functionality and usability.

Robotics Tournament

• • Robotics tournaments provide the students a fun and exciting way of learning science on a more practical hands-on level. By incorporating mechanical engineering and computer programming, students learn to become active problem solvers through strategic and logical reasoning. also provides the students a fun and exciting way of learning science on a more practical level.

3D Printing

• • Most students learn better when classrooms are fun and engaging. 3D printing allows educators to design rich learning experiences for deep theoretical constructs that bring learning from computer screens into students' hands.

  • At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks.

Intro to Computer Science

• • This course is designed to offer an introduction to computer science. Students will learn the basics of computer programming along with the basics of computer science. The course emphasizes computational thinking and developing the ability to solve complex problems.

Drone Racing & FAA Licensing

• • Drones are the technology of choice for future aerial transportation. Students are immersed in technical challenges and are taught real-world skills for career readiness. Drone racing turns flying drones into a competitive sport.
  • You must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate (FAA) if you want to fly drones for non-recreational purposes.This certificate is also known as a Part 107 license or a drone license. You can use your Certificate to fly a drone in any of the U.S. States and Territories. The Certificate must be renewed every 2 years.
