District Arts Office Artist In Residence - Cynthia Brogan - James Workman Middle School Strings Academy 2021 - Current

Cynthia Brogan is a freelance orchestral and studio violinist and violist with Bachelor and Master's degrees in Instrumental Music Performance from California State University, Northridge. She is the current Concertmaster of the Coachella Valley Symphony and Adjunct String Instructor at the College of the Desert. She has performed with a multitude of artists and on a number of tours. Cynthia was born and raised in Palm Springs and enjoys sharing her gift with the students who live here.The After-School String Class at James Workman Middle School focuses on the benefits of studying a string instrument in a group setting. The class offers instruction on violin, viola, cello and bass with an emphasis on the skills necessary for long-term success. Multiple performance opportunities are available throughout the school year.
