Cielo Vista Charter Named First Blue Zones Project Approved School in Palm Springs

On March 18th, we celebrated Cielo Vista Charter’s designation as the first school to be designated a Palm Springs Blue Zones Project Approved School. Blue Zones officials and partners, Superintendent Dr. Marcus Funchess, Mayor Naomi Soto and Councilmember Grace Garner and the CV Firebirds’ Fuego joined school site scholars and staff in the Walking School Bus from DeMuth Park to the school, ribbon cutting ceremony and healthy carnival. Blue Zones will work alongside the school to strengthen existing wellness initiatives and introduce new opportunities that support student health and learning including the school’s garden program, launching a monthly Walking School Bus and expanding programming to explore healthy eating, physical activity and community connection.
