***Please note that current students interested in re-enrolling at DLA must complete the application form below to reserve a spot for the 2022-2023 school year. We do not roll over enrollments for current students who are interested in staying at DLA as we are a "School of Choice"***
DLA's Independent Learning Model
Desert Learning Academy is a School of Choice that provides an alternative for parents who do not wish to send their children to the assigned local public schools. Desert Learning Academy offers hybrid and all-online programs for learning, providing students with flexibility in scheduling so that they can focus on work. Online courses require students to complete licensed coursework and get help from their teacher during weekly appointments. In addition to their weekly appointment, students may work on their courses at the DLA campus for as much or as little time as they choose, although teachers may encourage students who need extra help to spend more time on campus and utilize tutoring support through subject-specific teachers. All students come to the campus for state- and district-required assessments. There is also an opportunity for dual enrollment credit through College of the Desert.
