JOIN PEI
Would you like your child have more respect? Would you like them to learn to say no to trouble and do better in school? Then you might be interested in having your student join PEI. PEI is a Prevention and Early Intervention program offered at Painted Hills Middle School. Its focus is to train young people with essential social skills, empathy skills, character education, and anger management. These lessons provide tools that protect students against the risks in the community. The program is designed to help students to build self esteem to be leaders and not followers. PEI is free and meets 2 times per week during PE class for 14 weeks. Involvement in PEI also allows for your family to participate in the Family Time Meetings. These meetings bring together families to participate in fun-filled activities that have been shown to strengthen family bonds. Family Time meets Wednesday’s from 6-8pm at Painted Hills Middle School in the MPR.
If you are interested in having your child join PEI, then please take, fill out and return the parent packet to the school. You can print out a parent packet from the school website; get one from the front office, or from the PEI staff. The next cycle of PEI will begin September 6, 2018 - so don’t delay.
