ABout MTU:

Musical Theatre University (MTU) is a comprehensive, pre-professional after-school
Conservatory training ground for young people, grades 8-12, selected by audition, from all
schools within the PSUSD and, when space allows, neighboring communities. Classes are
held daily on the RMHS campus, and the faculty are all working professionals from
professional theatre, film and television. Concurrent with classroom instruction, the MTU
scholars have the opportunity to participate in numerous professionally-produced
theatrical productions each year, working alongside Broadway professionals in
performance as their guest-artist mentors.

About MTU Prep - Middle School:

The Musical Theatre University Prep Academy (MTU PREP) provides instruction in voice,
acting and dance to students, grades 6-8, from all middle schools in PSUSD. There is no
audition required to participate in MTU PREP. Classes are held after-school currently on
two PSUSD middle-school campuses – Nellie N. CoTman Middle School and James
Workman Middle School – but students from any middle school in the district are invited
and encouraged to participate. The MTU PREP program culminates in a fully staged musical
production in the spring. Classes are geared to all levels of experience – beginners to
advanced.

About MTU Jr. - Elementary School:

The Musical Theatre University Junior Academy (MTU JR.) provides instruction in voice,
acting, storytelling and dance to students, grades 2-5, from all elementary schools in

elementary school in the district are invited and encouraged to participate. The MTU JR.
program culminates in a fully staged musical showcase in the spring. Classes are geared to
all levels of experience – beginners to advanced.
