Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a type of computer technology that can learn from information, recognize patterns, and respond to questions or tasks. AI powers many of the tools we use every day and is changing how people learn, create, communicate, and solve problems in school, work, and everyday life.

AI Usage Guidelines
Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support safe, responsible, and innovative learning. These guidelines ensure AI is used appropriately while protecting student privacy and academic integrity.
Student Use Expectations
- Approved Tools Only: Students may use only district-approved AI tools under staff supervision.
- Parental Permission: Some AI tools may require parent/guardian consent.
- Privacy Protection: All tools must comply with FERPA and COPPA.|
Students may not use AI to:
- Submit AI-generated work as their own
- Access or create inappropriate content
- Share personal or confidential information
Academic Integrity:
AI must be cited when used, consistent with district policies.
