Secondary Learning Expectations: Grades 6-12

Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) is committed to using state-adopted curricula to ensure high-quality, standards-based instruction for all students.

Instructional Framework

To support student success, we utilize a data-driven, multi-tiered approach to learning.

Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS): Implemented to ensure students receive targeted intervention and enrichment to meet standards.

Assessment & Monitoring: All students take the STAR test, common formative assessments (CFA), and interim assessments to monitor progress.

Universal Design: We utilize Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Structured Student Discourse to help students interpret complex texts and develop content knowledge through collaborative conversation.

English Language Development (ELD)

Integrated ELD is embedded across all content areas. Teachers ensure students produce oral and written English that increasingly meets content expectations. Strategies include routine collaborative conversations about content and text
