Welcome to Special Education Department!

The purpose of special education is to provide specialized services, supports, and interventions to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment where the student can receive educational benefit.

Our Special Education Department consists of specialists who aim to cultivate educational pathways for students through collaborative efforts that provide equitable access to meaningful learning.  Our specialists work with site teams, service providers, families, and community partners to give students access to the same educational programs that are available to nondisabled peers.

We provide a full continuum of program options (including alternative placement options) and a full range of specialized services designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities residing within the Palm Springs Unified District boundaries.  We provide services for students ranging from age 3 to age 22.

Our team of specialists encourages parent participation in students' educational programs and throughout the IEP process.  By working together, we will continue to close the gap between home and school and develop opportunities with endless possibilities for all students.

If you have any questions related to your child's IEP or services, please contact your student's Case Manager, School Psychologist, or Program Specialist.

We look forward to serving you!

If you suspect your child has a disability, please contact the

PSUSD Special Education office at (760) 883-2703.
