Become a PSUSD Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in serving our students! Volunteers play a vital role in providing enrichment and personalized attention that enhances the educational experience across the Palm Springs Unified School District. Your support is invaluable.

To become a volunteer, here's what you will need to do

Step 1: Choose Your Volunteer Level

Before applying, determine which type of service best fits your goals.

Volunteer Type	Description	Requirements
Non-Supervisory	Always under the direct supervision of a certificated staff member.	ID, Mandated Reporter Training.
Supervisory	May work alone with students (Field trips, tutoring, driving, etc.).	ID, CA Driver's License, Live Scan Clearance.

Step 2: Prepare Your Documents

To ensure a smooth application process, please have the following digital files ready to upload:

Valid Photo ID: A copy of your current U.S. Identification.
Mandated Reporter Certificate: All volunteers must complete training. Complete Mandated Reporter Training now.
Proof of Immunization (ECE Only): If volunteering for Early Childhood Education, provide records for Pertussis, Measles, and Influenza.
Driver’s License (Supervisory Only): A copy of your current California Driver’s License.

Step 4: Application Processing

Please allow up to 30 days for processing, especially for Supervisory applications.

Non-Supervisory: Your application is reviewed by the School Principal, then forwarded to Human Resources for final approval.
Supervisory: After Principal review, Human Resources will email you instructions for your Live Scan (Fingerprinting).
- The District covers the cost of fingerprints.
- Once results clear, you will receive a final approval email.

Important Annual Reminders

Annual Renewal: A new Volunteer Application is required every school year.
Live Scans: Your fingerprints do not expire. If you have completed a Live Scan through PSUSD previously, you do not need to repeat this step.
