Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) offers a multitude of Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programs that serve families within the District. PSUSD includes Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Thousand Palms, and the unincorporated area of Sky Valley.
The ECE Program is made possible through the approval and support of the Palm Springs Unified School District’s Board Members and Administrators. The ECE Program collaborates with the Riverside County Office of Education and the California State Department of Education to provide support for children in PSUSD.
Our free, income-based ECE programs offered include Early Head Start, Head Start and State Preschool. Please read the three icons below or click on ECE Programs to learn more about the programs offered, locations and hours of operation.

ECE Programs
Early Head Start
Children 2-3 years old are eligible for this center-based program. The 3 sites operate Monday-Friday from 8 am to 3:30 pm.
Head Start
Children 3-5 years old are eligible. Sites are located throughout the district and offered Monday-Thursday from 8 am to 3 pm.
State Preschool
Children 2.9-5 years old are eligible for this Monday-Friday, part-day program, and can choose between an AM and PM session.
AM: 8-11 am PM: 11:45 am-2:45 pm
