The Portrait of a Graduate is PSUSD's answer to the question: "What skills do all PSUSD students need to thrive in a rapidly changing world?".

Its purpose is to develop a shared vision that guides every student's journey, from TK through 12th grade, ensuring they are College, Career, and Life Ready.

The Four Pillars

Our Portrait is built on Four Pillars, which are the essential skills every student in Palm Springs Unified School District will develop. These skills are taught and reinforced across TK-12.

The Portrait of a Graduate was developed with broad input from our district and community voices. Collaborating groups included:

  • LCAP Parent Advisory Council
  • Elementary, Middle, and High School Counselors
  • Industry, Community, College, and University Partners
  • Parents and Students
  • School Principals
  • District Educators and Leadership Teams

The ultimate goal is to provide Opportunity and Success for Every Student, so that all students graduate ready for life. This requires a shared commitment across the district and community, along with ongoing development and support.
