Dear Finchy Families:

     Welcome to Katherine Finchy Elementary School and the 2020-2021 school year!  We hope everyone had a wonderful summer and are ready for the new school year.  The district maintenance and grounds team were hard at work over the summer making improvements around our campus as well as our wonderful custodial staff working to get all spaces clean and sparkling for our start of the Distance Learning.

     This year Katherine Finchy will be focusing on strengthening our Falcon positive behavior program as well as implementing the district's focus on Social Emotional Learning, Literacy, and Numeracy.  We are also fortunate to have Mrs. Tillmon at Katherine Finchy full time this year in the role of School Counselor.

     Katherine Finchy has a shared partnership between home and school and our staff is looking forward to having your family join our school community.  Our expectation is that students and staff meet academic standards, recognize and appreciate individual and cultural differences and effectively learn to resolve problems.  School is your child's place of work and learning is serious business.  Please help your child develop good attendance habits by bringing him/her to school on time every day.  The tardy bell rings at 8:40.  Students arriving after the tardy bell must get a pass from the office.

     I would like to thank you all in advance for all the wonderful contributions you will make to the students and staff at Finchy.  I look forward to a successful school year together.
