Principal's Message

Our motto at RMES has been, “Be the Difference,” and this year we will be striving to “Be the Exception,” by offering many learning opportunities for our RamStars to build school capacity. One of the practices that makes Rancho Mirage Elementary School “The Exception” is our ever-growing opportunities for school students to participate in quality programs that promote student learning through a robust menu of afterschool programs and clubs. We will continue promoting our Musical Theatre University- Jr. program this fall with acting, singing, and dancing classes that are taught by Broadway professionals. We also offer leadership academies for students in 4^th and 5^th grade. RamStar Way is the boy’s group and Girl Power is the girls’ group. Each group will focus on the cultivation of leadership through serving others. We will also offer an intensive, yearlong program, robotics academy to support the area of technology and engineering. Other clubs that are available for students that are new will be the gardening club, gaming club, knitting club. We also have a parent who has volunteered her time to provide a class in cosmetology for both students and parents.

For parents who need assistance with afterschool supervision of their children, we offer a free after-school program called Think Together. The program staff works hand in hand with teachers to bridge the gap between the school day and after school.

Lastly, RamStar safety is the most important area in which we focus around Rancho Mirage and 100% of the time. Student classrooms are cleaned daily, and we are continuing with our hand washing protocols before and after any transition in and out of the classroom all day long to keep students safe.  In the TK and Kindy grade levels we have 1 adult for every 7-8 students.
