After School Education and Safety (ASES)

Our Role:

  • Provide a quality after school program at each elementary and middle school (grades 1-8), which includes:
    • Homework assistance
    • Healthy snacks and nutrition education
    • Personal enrichment
    • Physical activity
  • Build partnerships with communities, businesses, etc. to support student growth.
  • Expand the school day's learning to assist students' growth in areas of citizenship, leadership and academics.

Program Outline:

  • Participating Schools
    • Elementary Schools (Grades 1-5 or 6)
    • Middle Schools (Grades 6 - 8)
  • Program:
    • The YMCA of the Desert provides the day-to-day ASES program at the PSUSD school sites
    • Entry and attendance requirements are contained in the registration packet
  • How to enroll
    • Registration requirements and forms/packet are available at each elementary and middle school site
  • Cost
    • State funded grant
    • Program is free for PSUSD enrolled students
    • Suggested donation of $25/month per student  to assist in program enhancement/enrichment
  • Other
    • Volunteers welcome from all disciplines and skill levels
    • Contact your child's school site for more information and enrollment
