Education Code 39800
The governing board of any school district may provide for the transportation of pupils to and from school whenever in the judgment of the board the transportation is advisable and good reasons exist for.

PSUSD Administrative Regulation 3541
The State of California does not fully fund transportation for public school districts. The Palm Springs Unified School District receives limited funding for transportation services. It is the intent of the Palm Springs Unified School District to provide student transportation to the extent funded by the State of California and required by law.
